Derick Busenburg began his employment at East Knox in 2005 as a tutor.  Derick teaches personal finance to juniors and seniors at East Knox and is also the district’s athletic director.  He is a 2001 graduate of East Knox High School and a 2005 graduate of Kenyon College, where he majored in economics.  Derick resides in Mount Vernon with his wife Jessi, and his son Zach.
